One of my favorite things about Ulta is their 21 days of beauty! This sale typically happens twice a year-like Sephora’s VIB event. If you are not familiar with Ulta’s 21 days of beauty; it is basically 21 days of one-day only deals. Everyday different items are on sale for up to 50% off. The items selected are mostly from the higher end spectrum of makeup and skincare-like urban decay, tarte, murad and Clinique.
Alongside these daily deals there are “hot buys” that are pretty awesome as well and these items are on sale for the entire 21 days. So you have practically a month to debate if you want the item or not rather than 24 hours. Hot buys are offered more than just around this beauty sale. But I feel like they are tremendously better during this sale verses everyday.
Ulta’s 21 days of beauty began March 19th and ended on April 8th! I picked up several items from this sale and my last package just arrived. Most of the items are brand new to me. I decided now would be the time for me to give them a try for the discounted price. So without further ado let’s begin!
I had been trying to get my hands on this for forever. Each time it’s been offered during 21 days of beauty I’ve missed it. I actually wanted to get a tarte blush too but, I didn’t get to swatch them in store; therefore I was unsure on which color. Anyway the Mircodelivery Exfoilating Wash retails for $28 and during the sale it was $14! I was a little skeptical about this product because I’m not really a fan of the Purity wash-I don’t hate the Purity wash it’s just very simple. However I love The Microdelivery Exfoilating Wash. This product is a gentle scrub; that doesn’t leave my face feeling dry or tight after washing. I do not use this product with my Clarisonic. I can see the textured areas of my face clearing up.
I haven’t tried anything from Becca outside of their highlighters. Normally this primer retails for $38 and it was discounted to $19. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it so I decided to buy it. This is a very luminous primer. I tried it with a couple different foundations and decided for me it’s best to pair it with a more matte foundation. I do have dry skin however if I use it with a dewy foundation I end up looking like a sweaty mess! Overall I like this primer.
I have not tried a single thing from Murad before. I think the main reason why I haven’t is because of the price tag. This Essential Cleanser retails for $38 and was on sale for $19. $38 is a lot of money to me for cleanser. Especially if I am unsure on how it will perform. I’ve been using this cleanser every day since I’ve bought it and I love it. I use it everyday with my Clarisonic. I feel like it gives my face a deep cleanse. It also has a citrus scent that awakes my senses. I’d definitely purchase this regardless of the price.
I’ve tried a few things from Mario Badescu before. Unfortunately, I ended up gifting all of those products away to family members. None of them worked for me! I decided it was time for me to give it a go again since they were all 25% off. I think Mario Badescu products are relatively affordable but not necessarily drugstore prices. I’ve been in need of a toner so after reading a few product descriptions I placed the “Alpha Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion” in my cart. I’ve only been using it for couple weeks and I’ve noticed no change. So I will continue to use it for at least another month before I come to a final conclusion.
I also bought the “Cleansing Milk with Carnation & Rice Oil” cleanser. I figured this would be good to use in the morning. Since I do have dry, sensitive skin I don’t want to keep taking my face through rigorous cleansing. Especially if I’ve had a late night and washed my face at midnight before bed; then waking it again at 5am before I go to work. This cleansing milk is applied to a dry face in circular motions and wiped off with a damp towel. So far I’ve been enjoying it.
The last product I bought from this brand was the “Facial Spray With Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea”. Many people raved about the Rosewater one but the Cucumber spray definitely takes the cake. I use this to refresh my face if it feels dry and I like it. Definitely will repurchase it.
I bought this highlighter in the shade “Sparkler Highlight”. The glow is gives it rather subtle. Tarte describes it as a rose gold but I beg to differ. It’s definitely pulls more of a true gold on my complexion. The consistency is similar to the highlighters in the Tarteist Pro Glow Palette. It’s normally retails for $28 and it was on sale for $14.
Who has not tried the Brow Wiz before? Nobody-lol! I love the Brow Wiz to shape and fill in my brows. It retails for $21 but, it was on sale for $10.50-I bought three! This was a complete steal! I use the shade chocolate and I bought one in the shade soft brown so test out. I hate the brow definer-it’s just too thick and I struggle being precise.
After going into Ulta like everyday; I did pick up some of the hot buys. Bare Minerals “Matte Liquid Lipcolor” was on sale for $12. I bought 5 shades-Icon, Slay, Bo$$, Scandal, and Swank. These were apart of the Gen Nude collection and sense they are all nudes it no need for me to have them all. Tarte “Comfidence Creamy Powder Foundation” was on sale for $21. Tarte “Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation” was on sale for $27.50. I got both the powder and the gel foundation in the shade “Deep Honey”. I got my hands on the Tarte “Maracuja Oil” for $25. Pur’s “Miracle Mist” was on sale for $13. Lastly, I purchased Laura Geller’s “Spackle Supercharged Primer” for $19.
Whew! That was a very long list. If you made it to the end thank you so much for reading. If you tried any of these products or shopped during 21 days of beauty comment down below.
