The Multipurpose Dress

‘Tis the season for all types of celebrations and just living your best life! I feel like every woman needs a dress that can carry them throughout the whole day effortlessly. Sometimes there is really no time to change into a whole new outfit after work before you meet your gal pals for happy hour. Or sometimes you just want to go and not put too much thought in. That’s when a multipurpose dress comes into play.

Express has always been one of those stores that can lure me into their doors with a good sale. So, when an e-mail appeared in mailbox with 40% off everything of course I clicked on it. I wasn’t really in the market for anything until I seen this dress. I literally gasped. This dress spoke to my soul for everything spring/summer ’18! The possibilities are endless- I mean where can you not wear this dress?

This hot little number retails for $59.90 and is called the “Twist Front Sheer Rib Sheath Dress“. It comes in 3 colors Mustard, Purple, and Pitch Black. I think everyone should buy it in Mustard. It will truly compliment every women’s complexion in the summer after a tan. Pitch Black is another good option but, I feel as if you can’t see the detail in the dress with this color. The purple just didn’t speak to me at all. This dress fits true to size. I tend to think I am bigger than I am and end up exchanging sizes often. Thankfully, I opted to buy the medium on the first try. This dress fits like a glove and has tons of stretch.

I envisioned endless possibilities of this dress before I even placed it in my cart. You can dress it up to run errands by wearing a simple sandal. In the pictures I paired the dress with a pair of espadrilles I bought last summer from Sam Edelman and a denim jacket. This to me is like the ultimate casual look. Of course you can add accessories. I opted for a more minimal approach with a simple bar gold-plated necklace from TopShop and a initial bangle from Alex and Ani. I kept my makeup minimal too with just one eyeshadow on the lids and a nude gloss.

To transition this dress into something more dressed up I’d pair it with a strappy heel. I don’t think a pump would look too flattering with this this dress but, of course whatever works for you go for it! I kept the same accessories but you can definitely go more dramatic by adding a chunky necklace and several bangles. Or perhaps add a pair dangled earrings. I traded the nude gloss in for a bold red lip.

There are definitely more ways to style this dress but I figured I’d share a couple of quick options. Thank you so much for reading my first installment of “Fashionable Fridays”! So far my blog has been all about beauty products reviews but, I have way more interests than just that. I figured I’d branch out a bit and share more of my passions here (on this blog). Hopefully you’ll continue to be my +1 as I continue on this path. Please comment below if you now have your eye on this dress.

XoXo, B
